Every year at work we have a Summer Lunch and I always volunteer to organise it for two reasons:
1. I get to pick the restaurant
2. I get to do the decorations!
This year it’s all gone Nautical, we’re going to one of my favourite spots on Poole Quay, Banana Wharf, so what better than Paper Boat place cards as we gaze out at the Yachts! It took me a few tutorials before I understood how to make them, so I’ve tried to make it as simple as possible, but if you get confused, just ingnore-iga-me and head over to Youtube!
For one boat you will need:
A sheet of 9.5×7.5inches Paper
1x mini flag – (I will try and upload a template in the mean time, google has tons of links!)
Step 1.Cut your Paper to size
Step 2. Fold your paper in half length ways
Step 3. Fold the sealed edges so they meet in the middle, creating a triangle
Step 4. Fold the remaining paper up over the triangle
Step 5. Fold the corners inline with the triangle
Step 6. Flip it over and repeat
Step 7. Here comes the slightly tricky bit – grab the sides of the triangle and pull
Step 8. It should look something like this…
Step 9. Smooth down the sides so it lies flat
Step 10. Fold up the open edge
Step 11. Flip it over and repeat – you should end up with a triangle like this
Step 12. Grab the two sides again and pull
Step 13. Last tricky bit I promise – pull the triangles and voila!
Step 14. Push a cocktail stick through the centre
Step 15. Hoist your sails (pop your flag through the hole)
