In the words of Timbaland – “It’s been a long time, shouldna left you” but I’m BACK!
I’ve been writing and re-writing this post for weeks now, trying to find the words to explain my absence from the blogosphere. Deliberating over whether to give a run down of the good, the bad and the ugly, to glam it all up or to completely gloss it over. None of the above was working for me, it all felt a bit doom and gloom which isn’t exactly the tone you want to set for a, want for a better word, come back. So instead I’m going to tell you what I’ve learnt, what’s changed and what’s coming up – much better, right!
1. New Philosophy
Have you seen The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? If not you should, its hilarious, but I digress. In between thanking the lord for Tina Fey, a pearl of wisdom really stuck with me, ‘You can handle anything for ten seconds’. Then you start another ten seconds and eventually whatever it is will be over. This is applicable to everything; when your on your gym grind and feel like you cant do another minute, ten seconds at a time baby, when its 9.33am and you don’t know how you’re going to make it to 5pm, ten second chunks and it’ll fly by or when you curl your hair and its taking forever and you swear your arm is going to drop off, Ten Seconds and Repeat.
2. New(ish) Look
So those of you who are really really perceptive, may have noticed the minute change in my hair colour. As much as I try my hardest not to, as soon as the sun comes out I reach for the bleach. In this instance it was the Bleach London Balayage Kit which was a dream to use. Can you count the number of people you trust with your hair on one hand? Yeah, me too! I decided that instead of paying dollar dollar for a potential disaster, I would pay £7 and take matters into my own hands, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I also paid a visit to the Lush Hair Lab, which I’ll tell you more about in a post 🙂
3. New Home
We moved home! Hands up who hates moving house (*Waves both hands and a leg in the air*)? Totally out of the blue our s**t head landlord said he was moving back into the property, we found an awesome place but it wasn’t ready for 3 months, so we put everything in storage and staycationed at Jackson’s folks in a caravan I renovated (no, really), then hauled everything back out of storage and moved it all into our new gaff – traumatic. Mini whinge aside, it was totally worth it, because to say I love our new place would be an understatement. It’s perfect. Expect to see a house tour soon, so many teasers I know!
4. New New
It’s a new dawn and a new day, so what’s coming up?! Well I’m not planning on bigger, just better. I want to learn more about photography, writing, social media (seriously twitter?!). I’m working on refreshing my blog a little, adding some new features and some regular segments. So that’s the new new, but of course I will be keeping some old favs too. Is there anything you’d like to see more/less of?
I’ll leave you with what has to be my all time favourite TV moment ever, all hail Mindy Kaling.
