When the Comedy Club closed down 2 years ago Bournemouth was filled with a little less laughter. Well it’s Back, and what a Bang!
The newly renovated Brit was the perfect backdrop for a night of fresh comedy.
We were met at the door by a Maître’D who lead us through the crowd to our table right next to on the stage!
We settled into our corner and admired the Mod inspired décor as the place filled up.
The drinks were in (fruity cider for me of course) and the first act was up.
Rory had me laughing from the get go with childhood tales and Irish charm. He had lots of banter with Tracy who’s Norn’ Irish!
The bar staff came to each table and took orders in between the acts, I really rated this – there’s nothing worse than the interval rush to the bar.
Next up was Phil Jerrod
If you were starting to flag after a few drinks, this was the perfect pick me up. The BFC (bearded friendly comedian) took to the stage in a flurry of jokes, and if you ever thought about asking if you can touch someone’s beard, after Phil’s act, you will think again!
And now, the main act of the night Romesh Ranganathan
Let me start with a bit of background info; my Sunday mornings are spent watching Catch Up with a cuppa, Stand up for the week is always up first for a hilarious review on the weekly news shenanigans so when I saw this familiar face at the bar I had to sidle up and ask for a selfie. It’s an awful pic but I love it!
There was lot’s of crowd participation (some might call it heckling), Romesh took it all in his stride with his quick wit and dark humour!
At £10 a ticket it’s a bargain night out, so round up your friends and prepare to have your fill of laughs!
